PEF - MAIN EVENT LIVE YOUR JOURNEY AWAITS.

Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF) has been working diligently and creatively all year to provide funds for all 17 public schools in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District for the 41st year of supporting students.
PEF’s Main Event on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 is an event critical in helping the foundation meet its pledge to the PVPUSD to support all students. This year, PEF hosted a next level live broadcast event that everyone in the community was invited to attend free with their family and friends. The event saluted wonderful students and educators who have exhibited resilience, hope and positivity throughout this challenging year. Wowed by stunning performances and guest appearances throughout the live broadcast a Lexus RX 450h and a year of dining at Terranea’s Catalina Kitchen combined with lots of surprises always makes Main Event a fun and important opportunity to connect with the community. The Main Event Live event gave students an opportunity to showcase their talents. They also offered an online auction which included a spectacular array of collectible wines and spirits, local wine getaways and more.

About the Foundation
The mission of Peninsula Education Foundation is to raise and grant funds to enhance educational excellence for PVPUSD students.
Peninsula Education Foundation was founded in 1979 by a group of concerned parents who saw major programs like music, PE, and other critical learning programs cut due to a change in school funding. Beginning with a leadership gift of $50,000 from the Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation, PEF continues into its 40th year as one of the oldest and most respected education foundations in the nation. The purpose of PEF was to raise money to maintain, provide and enhance vital education programs in the PVPUSD after drastic changes to California State funding to all public schools occurred in the 1970s.
Since then, there has been a significant gap between what PVPUSD receives from the state and what it takes to educate the approximately 11,500 students in the district. PEF seeks to bridge this gap.
PEF is directly responsible for funding these programs:
Elementary Schools: PE teachers, library aides, STEM in 4th & 5th grades, school psychologists, and Chuck Miller Teacher Grants Intermediate Schools: comprehensive counselors, access to STEM programs, Parent University, and Chuck Miller Teacher Grants High School; Comprehensive Counselors, College and Career Centers, Access to STEM programs, High School Science Fair and Chuck Miller Teacher.
