About the Foundation
Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation has been in the South Bay community since 1975, working to support the growth and quality of care offered by Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers in both Torrance and San Pedro. Governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees comprised of dedicated community leaders, the Foundation works to inspire individuals, foundations and corporations to include the medical centers in their philanthropic priorities, raising millions of dollars each year to support capital projects, equipment acquisition and to support key service lines that enhance the patient experience and fulfill the medical center’s commitment to serving all, especially the poor and vulnerable. The Foundation plans and implements three major fundraising events including the most recent Power of Pink Women’s Wellness Conference which is held every 2 years, an annual Golf Classic and the Celebration Gala held each fall.

Over 400 guests were registered to virtually attend The Power of Pink Women’s Wellness Conference on April 9, 2021. The key note speaker, Marilu Henner spoke about life challenges and change as well as how to live a full beautiful “Plan B” life. Other highlights of the event included Cathi Shultz, motivational speaker and author, Lindsey Burrell, ICU nurse and patient care advocate and Dr Anita Sircar, Infectious Disease Specialist. We asked the two co-chairs of the event, Linda Wenglikowski and Lori Nolan to tell us more about their experiences on the foundation board and the reasons they are passionate about this foundation.

“I have served on the Board for 15 years continuing my family’s love and support for Little Company of Mary through the years. I firmly believe in the work and the mission of PLCM which is so strongly demonstrated in our events. POP has a wonderful spirit and brings the women of our community joining together to foster and support women’s health.”
-Linda Wenglikowski

“The first year I was involved with POP, I met Linda Wenglikowski and her family – the Centofante’s. This was incredibly special and meaningful to me as the Centofante family has a scholarship fund for the nurses at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers. I was able to thank them in person for their generosity that helped me obtain my Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership. Over the years, I had the opportunity to work with Linda on various events. She is one of the most generous, kind, and charitable women I know. Co-chairing this event with her was truly special for me. Why are we so passionate about this event? Mainly because it is educational and it is fun! While a few men join us each year, it is typically a sea of women in pink in the audience. We get to learn, visit, shop, and contribute TOGETHER to a great cause–what could be better?
