On May 31, PVLD hosted, Community Voices, a film festival in honor of AAPI month which featured Asian American and Pacific Islander narratives. With six talented directors from Visual Communications Digital Histories program, the festival highlighted a range of stories that resonated deeply with attendees, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of AAPI culture. The event featured a dynamic Q&A session hosted by Eseel Borlasa a cultural organizer, film programmer and publicist who has long championed community storytelling, allowing both filmmakers and audience members to engage in meaningful discussions about the films and their themes. Films featured including those by directors Patty Fong, Barbara Kagawa Shore, Jeff Chop, Kevin Shore, Robert Shoji, Steve Nagano and Joe Virata.
