Music in the Garden Brings the Community Together
Hundreds of community members gathered at South Coast Botanic Garden on March 28, 2026, for the Peninsula Committee LA Phil’s annual Music in the Garden, a daylong celebration of youth music and community connection.
Student musicians from South Bay schools performed throughout the Garden, filling the spring air with orchestral and choral music, while special guest artists from The Colburn School and the Inner-City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles added inspiring performances that showcased the depth of young musical talent across the region.
Emcee Merlin David kept the energy high, engaging guests of all ages—from families with strollers to longtime music lovers—creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the day.
The event was made possible by the dedicated volunteers of the Peninsula Committee LA Phil, whose behind-the-scenes efforts ensured a seamless and welcoming experience for performers and guests alike.
