When it comes to tackling tough terrain, Bennett Landscaping doesn’t back down — even if it means calling in a helicopter.
In a striking scene along the Palos Verdes Estates shoreline, crews from Bennett Landscaping coordinated with the City to remove invasive bamboo and other overgrowth using aerial support. The dramatic operation — which included flying bundles of vegetation up and out of the bluffside — was part of a larger effort to restore coastal access and natural beauty to the area.

The work also marked a milestone in the City’s resolution of a long-standing dispute involving the historic surf spot at Lunada Bay. Once known for its exclusive local surf culture, the area is now moving forward with improved public access and stewardship.
Sean Bennett, owner of Bennett Landscaping, was on site during the operation. “We’re proud to be a part of this project — it’s not every day you get to bring in a helicopter for landscaping,” he said with a smile. “It’s an example of the kind of creative problem-solving we bring to the job, especially here in the community we care so much about.”

For more than 40 years, Bennett Landscaping has served the South Bay and Palos Verdes Peninsula with integrity and a deep-rooted passion for preserving the natural beauty of the area. Their commitment extends beyond client projects. Every Arbor Day, the team donates time, labor, and materials to plant trees in local cities — all at no cost.
“This community has supported us for decades,” Bennett said. “Giving back through our Arbor Day plantings is just a small way we say thank you — and a chance to make our neighborhoods even more beautiful.”
This year, Bennett Landscaping is donating tree plantings at five South Bay locations, providing everything from tree selection and staking to post-installation watering and care.
Whether by foot, by truck, or by helicopter, Bennett Landscaping continues to find new ways to elevate the landscape — and the community around it. Click below to check out more on our YouTube Channel: Local -> Global at Palos Verdes Magazine YouTube
