What is Student Wave?
We connect local high school and college students with local customers to perform a variety of services. Young people have amazing talents, skills, knowledge, and interests. We match them with customers who benefit from their affordable, accessible, and personalized service. When students share their knowledge, skills, and passions, they gain meaningful professional and life experience and create a more connected community. We believe that connecting people across generations and socioeconomic enriches everyone and fosters communities of trust everywhere.

Founders
Two Young Entrepreneurs, Josh Kahen and Wyatt Chang teamed up with Educational Innovator, Elisabeth Arnold. They make up a Creative Team Focused on Giving Local HS Students Opportunities to Use their Skills to Make Money.

Josh Kahen is a sophomore at the University of California at Berkeley where he is intending to major in Business Admininistration at the Haas School of Business. He moved to PV when he was in 3rd grade and attended Soleado Elementary, Ridgecrest Intermediate and then Peninsula High School. At Peninsula he was the Senior Class president and also the photographer in chief of the Panther yearbook while also playing Varsity soccer and volleyball. He currently serves as the head photo editor for the Daily Californian newspaper and owns a portrait and event photography company, JP Photos LA. He hopes to one day start a Venture Capital firm that focuses on early stage student-run startups and provide them with enough mentorship and advice to successfully gain traction.

Wyatt Chang is a sophomore at Harvey Mudd College where he is working towards a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Economics. He is also an NCAA athlete on the Claremont-MuddScripps football team. He has lived in PV his entire life and has attended Peninsula High School, PVIS, and Lunada Bay Elementary. At Peninsula, Wyatt was a member of ASB and Link Crew while also playing varsity football and basketball. Wyatt now works for First Code Academy as a part time instructor where he teaches coding and computer science to students ages 5-16. In his free time, Wyatt loves competing in sports, reading, and going to the beach.

Elisabeth Arnold Weiss passion in life is to help young people succeed. While in college at University of Virginia, she began tutoring local kids, a transformative experience which shifted her future and career direction. She has served on the faculty at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering since 1999. Elisabeth joined The Student Wave in 2020 to grow the company and to strengthen connections in the parent community. She is a local mom with two kids in elementary school. family is involved in many community endeavors, such as the Palos Verdes School Gardens, the PV Land Conservancy, the PV Little League, and various charitable organizations.
