On Sunday, May 4th the Peninsula Committee Los Angeles Philharmonic held their annual fundraiser in the ‘Boogie Woogie’ Ballroom of the DoubleTree Hotel in San Pedro. Overlooking the sunset views of Cabrillo Marina, attendees got to ‘jump and jive’ the night away to the sounds of the Big Band Era. While Bill Webster’s Unabridged Orchestra got everyone ‘In the Mood’, four professional dancers showed everyone how to ‘swing’ and even those with two left feet got into the spirit!
It was a fun-filled night of music, laughter, and fundraising for an important cause. All proceeds from the event will support the youth music learning initiatives sponsored by the LA Philharmonic, the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, and help to provide instruments, equipment and music for our local Palos Verdes middle and high school music programs.
Through fundraising and awareness, Peninsula Committee strives to help remove the financial obstacles for children in underserved communities and to provide them with unlimited opportunities, access, and musical enrichment.
