Honored for Investing in Future Talent
Palos Verdes Magazine was recently honored with the LARC Emerging Employer Partner Award, recognizing the publication’s commitment to creating meaningful career opportunities for local college students.
Presented through the Los Angeles Regional Consortium (LARC) in partnership with El Camino College and the LA Job Placement and Career Success Initiative, the award celebrates employer partners who have quickly built impactful relationships with students, faculty and staff while demonstrating an outstanding commitment to workforce development.
The recognition highlights Palos Verdes Magazine’s internship program, which provides students with hands-on experience in journalism, marketing, photography, social media, graphic design, business development and community engagement. By working alongside the magazine’s team, students gain real-world skills while helping tell the stories that make the Palos Verdes Peninsula and South Bay such unique communities.

Connecting Education and Industry
LARC is a collaborative network of California community colleges that works to strengthen workforce development throughout the Los Angeles region by connecting education with industry and creating pathways for student success. Through partnerships with employers, colleges and community organizations, LARC helps prepare students for meaningful careers while supporting the region’s evolving workforce needs.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition,” said Kristin Borden, Publisher and Managing Owner of Palos Verdes Magazine. “Investing in the next generation has always been an important part of our mission. Watching students discover their talents, build confidence and launch their careers while making a positive impact in our community is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.”

A Shared Commitment to Student Success
Palos Verdes Magazine accepted the award during the 2nd Annual LARC Employer Recognition Brunch held at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, where employers, educators and community leaders gathered to celebrate partnerships that are helping prepare students for future success.
We want to extend a special thank you to Dr Carla Camacho and Jason Vaquero of El Camino College who through their hard work and expertise have created an amazing group of interns and sent them to us ready to get to work.
