Palos Verdes Library Fun Facts

PVLD’s has three main libraries – Peninsula Center Library, Malaga Cove Library, and Miraleste Library

  • The Local History Center which is housed inside the Peninsula Center Library branch houses an extensive collection of historical material related to all aspects of Peninsula history including its Spanish land grant days, cattle and sheep ranching, agricultural days, early land development, city formation, and current life. It was Dedicated on November 8, 2003 after moving from the Malaga Cove Library where it was housed for eighteen years. After the collection was evaluated by a professional archivist, it was determined that the collection should be kept in a climate-controlled environment for long term preservation. The Local History Room in its current location at the main library was made possible by the Peninsula Friends of the Library through its Lincoln Cain Endowment Fund.
