Palos Verdes Community Comes Together for Toast on the Coast

On Saturday, September 27, the Palos Verdes community gathered at Malaga Cove for the 5th annual Toast on the Coast, a food and wine festival benefiting Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF) and students of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. Guests enjoyed tastings from some of the South Bay’s favorite restaurants, paired with wine, craft beer, and cocktails. Live performances by The Wayward Sons, Juice Boxx Heroes, and Shabingus filled the coastal bluff with music as guests mingled under the lights overlooking the ocean.

Funds raised from Toast on the Coast support educational programs across all 17 PVPUSD schools, including school counselors, STEM iniAaAves, library aides, elementary music and PE teachers, and College & Career Center staff.

“This event truly reflects the spirit of our community,” said PEF Executive Director Laura Hughes.

“When people come together to celebrate and give back, our students benefit in ways that reach far beyond one night.” The evening also featured a live auction and paddle raise, helping PEF continue its mission to enhance educational opportunities for every student in the district.

For 46 years, PEF has relied on the generosity of parents, community members, and businesses to fund vital teachers, staff and programs such as music teachers, PE teachers, school counselors, STEM, library aides, College & Career Centers, and teacher grants. Their continued support strengthens opportunities for all students across the Palos Verdes Peninsula. To support PEF or for more information, please visit pvpef.org.
