AFTER A YEAR OF SEARCHING….
THIS DESIGN DUO FOUND THE PERFECT HOUSE TO RENOVATE!

FIRST THEY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE HOUSE, THEN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND ALL OF THE GEMS PV HAD TO OFFER. THEY DISCOVERED A WAY TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES DURING THE PROJECT

Hunter Carson Designers Mandy Gregory and Lynn Stone searched for the perfect home to renovate for nearly a year, before finding “the one” on Westvale in Rolling Hills. “The love affair started when we pulled up and saw a simple swing hanging from this gorgeous, majestic oak tree,” said Stone .“The neighborhood just felt, happy,” said Gregory. “The neighbors were lovely and stopped by to introduce themselves. So did some horses … and peacocks… Our daily commute, winding through palm trees, and hills was a welcome change from the drudgery of the 405,” said Gregory.
The Manhattan Beach based designers discovered Corners of the World and found one of a kind pieces, and became a go to source for future projects. When it came to staging their PV home, they bought bars of soap that spelled out the word LOVE for the powder room as well as Voluspa candles for the bedroom and olive tree spoons in a hand carved container for the kitchen. They also raved about the selection of books. Stone bought her husband ‘Los Angeles Cocktails Spirits in the City of Angels’ for their Anniversary and ‘The Bucket List’ for a friend celebrating a milestone Birthday. Throughout the house, they had arrangements from Rolling Hills Flower Mart. The designers favorite is white phaleonopsis orchids, white hydrangea, and loops of rich greenery. They also enjoyed some local food. The Yellow Vase was a pastry pickup must for their team. The chocolate croissants a guilty pleasure. Their kids, who helped with demoing the project, devoured the Matcha Tea latte and chocolate layer cake. Lunch meetings called for sandwiches at Malaga Cove Ranch Market (you can’t go wrong with the tuna wrap, and the baklava melts in your mouth.) This was the designers first renovation, but they’re already looking for for their next Palos Verdes project. Palos Verdes Magazine would like to thank Mandy and Lynn for sharing their recent renovation and supporting our local businesses.
