Holi Festival of Color at Peninsula High

The vibrant colors of Holi came alive on March 11th when over 350 people, all ages, races, and religions, gathered for the annual Holi Hungama event, held at Peninsula High School. The Hindu festival Holi, celebrated across India, was brought to Palos Verdes by the Peninsula Hill Foundation, which aims to promote cultural diversity and bring the community together. Holi celebrates the victory of good over evil, and the arrival of spring. Guests enjoyed traditional Indian snacks, danced to DJ Vishal‘s Bollywood beats, and enjoyed cultural performances by PV families. Dhol, a traditional Indian percussion instrument, created a captivating sound. From children to the elderly, everyone took turns smearing Holi colors red, blue, green, yellow, and pink on each other as they wished Happy Holi. The event was a testament to that Holi is not just a festival of colors but a celebration of life, love, and togetherness. For information on upcoming events, please visit peninsulahill.org.
