Finding Small Moments of Pretty

Finding Small Moments of Pretty

You don’t have to remodel your home to create an oasis. Here are 5 easy tips everyone can manage while staying safe at home. There is no one around to judge or impress so now’s the time to get creative, use what you have and have some fun with it.

Rearrange Wall Art

It’s amazing how art can transform a space. Think about your favorite picture in the house and put it where you are spending most of your time. The arrangement doesn’t have to be the perfect scale or size- art just needs to evoke a happy or calming thought.

Set The Table

Those crystal glasses from the wedding- DRINK from them!  This has been so fun. I am having the kids bring out placemats, napkins, candles (LIGHT THEM), flowers and pouring water glasses with lemon prior to sitting down. I realized after being at home- we hardly set a table and generally eat on the go. Make it fun- add a note card at every table setting and pass notes at dinner time- the kids love it!

Create Small Vignettes and Shake up your Accessories

Do you have a pretty tray in a drawer, a vase hidden on a shelf in the pantry? Put the tray on your bedside table and fill the vase with some fresh flowers or greens from outside. It creates an instant moment to enjoy!

Use Your Wall Space as an Opportunity to Organize

The home office has been our families toughest challenge as we now have 5 people working from home. The kids books were everywhere and it was driving me nuts. I took 2 shelves from my bathroom, grabbed 4 hanging baskets on amazon and an acrylic calendar to keep things straight. Supplies have a space, and momma is happy to keep the books off the kitchen counters!

Make Your Bed

This is a classic trick in feeling like the house is pulled together. Fold your blankets differently, one day put the blanket at the end, fold it diagonal, give yourself turn down service.
