15-year old Chadwick Student takes the future into her own hands by hosting an art show to unify the Asian and greater Los Angeles community

Driven by the past year’s increase in hate crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Audrey Lin, a 15-year-old Chadwick student helps unify the Los Angeles community by celebrating the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) people and cultures through the power of art.

In late September, Audrey along with Chadwick School hosted a weeklong art show to help break up stereotypes in the Asian culture and raise awareness about the hate crimes against AAPI. The show focused on how the AAPI community has contributed to society.

It featured pieces from Audrey and artists from the Chadwick School in Palos Verdes and the local community. Local artists could submit pieces across any medium depicting AAPI historical contributions, music, food, famous figures, gaming, or a personal reflection of the recent hate crimes. I love art because it universally unites us through human emotion,” said Audrey Lin.
