SUMMARY:SOAR Tropical Butterfly Pavilion at South Coast Botanic Garden
DESCRIPTION:The butterflies return May 1\, 2024! Immerse yourself amid hundreds of tropical butterflies as we celebrate our 4th year of SOAR!\n\n\n\n\n\nThis popular exhibit features hundreds of tropical butterflies that you wouldn’t normally see in Southern California. Your journey begins as you step into the Host and Nectar Garden and wander through beautiful plant species that are part of a butterfly’s habitat. Next\, you’ll stop by our Emergence Chamber where you may just see a butterfly emerge from its pupa! Next\, you’ll enter the pavilion where you will have an up-close-and-personal experience with the hundreds of butterflies flying throughout the exhibit. While the pavilion provides many photo-worthy moments\, there will be additional photo opportunities outside of the pavilion as part of SOAR. Once your SOAR experience is complete\, you can continue to awaken your senses with Bloom!Tickets are $6 for members and $23 for non-members which includes garden admission.SOAR reservations run from 9:30am to 4:30pm daily through August 31st and must be booked in advance\, each ticket allows 30 minutes in the pavilion at the designated time printed on ticket.\n\n\n\n\n\nButterfly Feeding ExperienceWant an even more unique experience? Guests will again have the opportunity to feed our butterflies! Purchase the Butterfly Feeding Experience for an additional $6 and you can use a flower vial filled with nectar to use while inside the pavilion to help entice butterflies to come close to you for the optimum and most immersive experience. There will be one vial per Butterfly Feeding Experience ticket holder\, which is returned at the end of the experience.

DESCRIPTION:Spend Easter at South Coast Botanic Garden.  The garden will be open for regular hours\, advance purchase is required for garden entry on the weekends.  Click here to purchase tickets.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is the Garden doing for Easter? The Garden does not have any programming planned for Easter 2024\, however\, we will be installing our springexhibit\, BLOOM!\, which opens April 1. Guests who are visiting on Easter Day will get an early look at this stunning exhibit.\n\n\n\n\n\nCan I do my own Easter egg hunt? You may bring eggs into the Garden and have an egg hunt in our designated area – the Lower Meadow. The safety of our collection and guests is our top priority so we ask that you do not hide eggs inside plants or where a guest may have to step into a planter bed. Additional egg hunt guidelines are below:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRemember that the Lower Meadow is a shared space for all and guests are not permitted to block off or reserve any space for a specific egg hunt.\n\n\n\nHelp us protect our wildlife by counting and picking up all the eggs that you brought into the Garden.\n\n\n\nKeep all eggs on grassy or paved areas and out of our planter beds in the Lower Meadow.

SUMMARY:Peninsula Committee LA Philharmonic Presents Music in the Garden
DESCRIPTION:The annual Music in the Garden\, featuring young musicians from South Bay schools\, will take place on Saturday\, March 16th\, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the South Coast Botanic Garden. The event is sponsored and organized by the Peninsula Committee Los Angeles Philharmonic.Music in the Garden provides an opportunity for student orchestras and choral ensembles to perform and showcase their talent. Schools that will be performing include Casimir Elementary\, Ridgecrest Intermediate\, Palos Verdes Intermediate and High School\, Peninsula High School\, and South High.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Peninsula Committee\, founded in 1952\, is one of 17 Affiliate Committees whose volunteers support the mission of the LA Philharmonic through fundraising\, youth music education\, and fostering the love of music in the community. SUMMARY:Lunar New Year Celebrations at South Coast Botanic Garden Every Weekend in February
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the Year of the Dragon\n\n\n\n\n\nSouth Coast Botanic Garden is bringing back its Lunar New Year Celebration for a second year\, with some new twists that will make it even bigger! Our winter blooms and green foliage are a picture-perfect backdrop to usher in the Year of the Dragon\, complete with red lanterns and festive activities throughout the entire month of February. Every Saturday and Sunday\, the Garden will host two 30-minute live performances – at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Both shows will feature the same types of performances including lion dancers\, folk dancers and drummers. There will also be all-day activity stations taking place on the Lower Meadow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as well as classes that can be purchased for an additional fee. More information below!\n\n\n\n\n\nActivity Stations will be open on the Lower Meadow from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays\, including:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCrafting dragon puppets\n\n\n\nLantern making\n\n\n\nChopstick race\n\n\n\nMahjong\n\n\n\nCalligraphy\n\n\n\nGo! Game\n\n\n\nMikhuna food truck will also be serving food\n\n\n\n\nLive Performances will take place at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays:\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWushu Shaolin Entertainment will present:\n\n\n\nLion Dancers\n\n\n\nDragon Dancers\n\n\n\nMartial Arts\n\n\n\nFolk Dancers\n\n\n\nPalos Verdes High School will present:\n\n\n\nDrum Performance\n\n\n\nFolk Dancers\n\n\n\n\nThe Lunar New Year Celebration is included with General Garden Admission!
