We are a team of high school students from Palos Verdes High School, striving to fund kidney disease research. Having learned about the prevalence of kidney disease and the desperate need for research funding, we decided to take action by raising awareness and funds in our local community to benefit the Vito M Campese MD/UKRO Kidney Research Center and the Keck School of Medicine, USC. The 1-in-7 Campaign represents the prevalence of this devastating disease; 1 in 7 adults, ~850M people worldwide suffer from this disease. Our goal is to support scientists working toward better treatments while educating our community about the impact of this widespread condition.
