DESCRIPTION:As we explore the native coastal sage scrub habitat\, we will also have the unique opportunity to seeconcrete observation stations built in the late 1920s to support the 14” guns at Ft. Macarthur\, view what remainsof a dual 6” gun battery built during WWll and visit one of the best-preserved Cold War-era Nike missile launchsites in the country. Moderate to Strenuous. (Meet in front of the RPV City Hall flagpole area) This is a moderateto strenuous hike and sturdy shoes are recommended. Admission is free and open to all.
