SUMMARY:FREE Intro to Team Taiko & Japanese Drum Care
DESCRIPTION:Learn about Taiko and how to care for Taiko drums and bachi (drumsticks) and how to make a practice drumin this introductory session.If you wish to make your own practice drum\, please bring a bucket (5-gallon or larger). All other supplies willbe provided.If you have your own bachi or drum that you would like to perform maintenance on\, please bring it with you.We believe in creating unique opportunities for people to meet their neighbors and engage in their communityin a new way. Come play with us!Taiko is a Japanese traditional drumming practice that\, over the last several decades\, has become a globalphenomenon. Since 2013\, Grand Vision has partnered with leading taiko instructors to bring the art form tothe South Bay.Taiko Artist Man Man Mui guides participants toward a repertoire of drumming techniques and patterns.Sessions include developing rhythmic sensibility\, body awareness\, breath and strength training as studentsmake music together as a team. \n\n\n\nWinter Session Mondays at 6:30 PM February 9 – March 30:Team Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities\, from beginners to seasoned musicians\, and fees are on asliding scale. Recommended for ages 12 and up\, children must participate with a guardian or have a signedparticipation waiver. \n\n\n\nTeam Taiko classes are broken into 8-week sessions\, with a different pattern taught during each session.
