SUMMARY:Independence Day 5K Run & Firecracker Dash
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the 31st annual 4th of July 5K and Firecracker Dash in Redondo Beach at 8:00am sponsored by UCLA Health! All participants will receive an Independence Day run t-shirt. There will be chip timing\, age division awards\, and cash prizes to the top three overall male and female runners in the 5K run. All kids dash finishers receive medals too! \n\n\n\nThe 5K Run/Walk begins at 8:00am on July 4\, 2024.  The race course starts and finishes on Catalina Ave. near Palos Verdes Blvd. \n\n\n\nThe Firecracker Dash for the Gold heats are separated by age groups and start approximately at the times listed below. \n\n\n\n9:30am Ages 8-9\, Distance: 1/4 Mile9:40am Ages 6-7\, Distance: 1/4 Mile9:45am Ages 4-5\, Distance: “Dash” \n\n\n\nWe will be having a Costume Contest at the stage in the Coffee Cartel parking lot from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Please enter with your patriotic best for a chance to win the following prizes: \n\n\n\n1st Place – $100 gift certificate to the Village Runner2nd Place – $75 gift certificate to the Village Runner3rd Place – $50 gift certificate to the Village Runner \n\n\n\nCelebrate and give back to our local students. The Village Runner Independence Day 5K directly benefits the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation and other local schools and running programs.
