SUMMARY:Living Beyond Remission Benefit Presented by Luna Peak Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Luna Peak is hosting our 3rd annual Remission Celebration party fundraiser\, which honors our cofounder Melody’s 42 years in remission and also celebrates all of the cancer survivors in our community. This year we are hosting this gala at the Shade Hotel Redondo Beach for 3 hours which includes a sit-down lunch\, survivor speakers\, and a raffle.Purpose: This event raises funds for our continuous work in the community\, specifically care package donations to local hospitals for pediatric cancer patients\, their siblings\, and their parents. Our care packages include our Luna Peak published books which are photography books and workbooks (also translated into Spanish) which are resources that show family members of every age that they are not alone. Additional care items and hospital stay essentials are also included in the donation packages. CHOC and Loma Linda University Hospital are our most recent donation recipients\, and these donations are extra meaningful as they are delivered by our cofounder who is a childhood cancer survivor; this gives hope to patients and their families since they see that she can relate to their journey.
