DESCRIPTION:Please join the City of Redondo Beach\,  Redondo Beach Elk’s Lodge #1378\, and Veterans Memorial Task force in a Veterans Day Tribute at the Veterans Memorial at Veterans Park in Redondo Beach. \n\n\n\nTraditional hometown Veterans Day observation in Redondo Beach at the Veterans Memorial in beautiful Veterans Park by the Redondo Pier. The one hour ceremony will begin at 1pm\, Tuesday\, 11 November. The event will include commentary\, music and recognition and honors to all those who have served in the Armed Forces and worn the uniform of their country. \n\n\n\nLocal elected officials\, community leaders\, veterans and military dignitaries will participate. \n\n\n\nThe flag flown over the Memorial will be retired and formally presented to a local military veteran. \n\n\n\nThe Tribute is supported by the Coastal Naval Sea Cadets\, Redondo High Marine Corps JROTC\, and the United USA National Pageant Legacy Maker Academy. \n\n\n\nDonations and contributions are still being accepted for the Redondo Beach Veterans Memorial. Brick purchases and sponsors also available. See http://www.rbveteransmemorial.com \n\n\n\nThe Veterans Day Tribute will be followed by a BBQ hosted by the Redondo Beach Elks Lodge in the Elks parking lot south of their building adjacent to Veterans Park. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a guided tour of Pelican Cove led by the Los Serenos Docents. Hike past the unique native flora and fauna and explore the Tide pools teeming with fascinating marine life. The hiking difficulty is moderate to strenuous. The trail to and from the Tidepools is short but steep\, involving about a 120-degree change in elevation. The south end of the cove is a tidepool at low tide and an ocean brimming with sea life. Sorry\, no dogs are allowed on the beach. The hike is free\, and rain cancels a hike. Park in the parking lot on the southbound lanes of Palos Drive just south of the Point Vicente Park and Lighthouse. Parking at Pelican Cove is extremely limited; Carpooling is highly recommended.
