DESCRIPTION:International concert pianist Vladimir Khomyakov takes the stage with a riveting program featuring Modest Mussorgsky’s monumental Pictures at an Exhibition\, alongside deeply expressive Preludes by Sergei Rachmaninoff and lyrical treasures by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. \n\n\n\nPraised for his powerful interpretations and poetic sensitivity\, Khomyakov is a laureate of numerous prestigious international competitions\, including the Anton Rubinstein\, Emil Gilels\, Maria Canals\, José Iturbi\, and Hilton Head competitions. His performances have captivated audiences across Europe\, Asia\, and the Americas. \n\n\n\nBorn in Kirovohrad\, Ukraine\, Vladimir began piano at the age of four and received his formal training at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg\, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory\, and the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music. He studied under some of the most celebrated pianists of our time\, includingDanielPollack\, Dmitry Bashkirov\, and Alexander Sandler\, who helped shape his distinctive voice—blending tradition\, depth\, and brilliance. \n\n\n\nAdding a unique dimension to the evening\, Khomyakov will also share engaging commentary throughout the performance—offering historical background\, personal reflections\, and entertaining stories that bring the music and its composers vividly to life. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30pm\, concert begins at 7:00pm. Reception to follow. Admission is limited to the venue’s capacity.Sitting is on a first-come-first-serve basis – no assigned seats. Parking is free and on site. Additional parking is available in a cul-de-sac on the south side of the church – parking there is head-on; please refrain from parallel parking. Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the performance to secure your parking spot.
