DESCRIPTION:If you feel the Earth shaking or hear rumbling near South Coast Botanic Garden\, don’t worry – it’s just the trolls arriving. Thomas Dambo TROLLS: Save the Humans will have its West Coast premiere at the Garden on October 1 featuring the acclaimed artist’s signature folklore-inspired troll sculptures built from reclaimed materials. These six larger-than-life trolls are meeting here in our 87 acres to try to help us humans out. You see\, hundreds of trolls came together at “Trolliefolkyfest” to discuss their favorite topic – us humans. While they know we mean well\, we keep failing them by making questionable choices\, like cutting down forests\, emptying rivers\, and putting humans – and them – in danger. While most of the trolls think we are past saving\, these SIX think they can help us. And they are headed here… \n\n\n\nExhibit runs October 1 through January 14\, 2024. \n\n\n\nIncluded with your Garden General Admission Tickets! Click here for tickets.

SUMMARY:3rd Annual Art Show Celebrating the AAPI Community Opens 
DESCRIPTION:The 3rd annual CACTA Art Show\, celebrating the AAPI community\, is now being shown in the Peninsula Center Library. It showcases pieces made by students\, parents\, faculty\, and alumni from schools in the South Bay.  The art show was created by local high school student and artist\, Audrey Lin.   Our goal is to celebrate the AAPI community using the power of art. We hope that by showcasing the countless beautiful aspects of Asian culture\, we can raise awareness about the recent historical hate crimes against Asian Americans and unite people while celebrating our diverse people and cultures. \n\n\n\nThe show runs now through February 23 at the Peninsula Center Library Foyer\, open during regular library hours.
