SUMMARY:Angels Gate Cultural Center Presents "Species of Magic" Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Angels Gate Cultural Center on Saturday\, February 14th from 2pm – 4pm for the opening of Species of Magic: From the Studio of W.S. Milner\, a solo exhibition of works by the late San Pedro artist also known as Wendy Calloway (1948 – 2025). \n\n\n\nClick here to learn more and RSVP for free \n\n\n\nCurated by Phoebe Barnum and Susan Davis\, this exhibition features a selection of works from the collections of many who knew and loved the late AGCC Studio Artist. Wendy Calloway’s poetic practice was akin to magic – a transformative force for constructing reality and unveiling hidden truths. \n\n\n\nSpecies of Magic: From the Studio of W.S. Milner will be on view in the gallery February 14th through March 21st\, 2026 with free public visiting hours Thursdays\, Fridays\, and Saturdays\, from 10am to 5pm. \n\n\n\nSupport for the exhibitions program is provided by the Department of Cultural Affairs\, City of Los Angeles\, the Perenchio Foundation\, the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture\, and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.

DESCRIPTION:Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) is thrilled to announce the 4th Teen Mural Club Unveiling on Saturday\, February 21\, 2026 from 2pm–3:30pm! We are incredibly proud of and grateful for our Teens’ participation over the past 10 weeks\, working alongside artist & muralist JP / Jason Pereira to create Angels Gate Cultural Center’s newest mural\, Vā Manuia. \n\n\n\nFREE! The public is encouraged to RSVP at https://TMCUnveiling.eventbrite.com/?aff=pvmag \n\n\n\nIn Sāmoan culture\, Vā is the name of the space between us\, and Manuia is the word for blessing. The stories woven into AGCC’s newest mural speak to the honoring of spaces in between. The final piece is an impactful vision that offers blessings to the land\, ocean\, sky and community. \n\n\n\nAGCC invites the public to celebrate the power of education\, collaboration\, and creativity that brought this mural to life as we present the completed mural on the side of Building H to the community for the first time. \n\n\n\nSupport for Teen Mural Club is generously provided by the Nellie Leaman Taft Foundation and the Gluck Foundation.
