The Peninsula’s Oldest Independence Day Celebration is back to Celebrate 59 Years of Family Fun with Patriotic Music and Civic Awards www.PVJuly4.org The Palos Verdes Independence Day Celebration in Malaga Cove www.PVJuly4.org is back after a 5-year hiatus. This beloved South Bay tradition is a family-friendly day of music, games and civic awards. For hundreds of residents this event is a highlight of their 4th of July festivities and there’s no better place to celebrate our nation’s independence than on the picturesque playing fields of Malaga Cove School overlooking the blue Pacific. All festivities at Malaga Cove School, 300 Paseo Del Mar, Palos Verdes Estates, July 4th are funded by residents and online donations in any amount www.PVJuly4.org are welcomed.
This year’s Kenneth T. Norris, Jr. Heritage of Freedom Award keynote speaker is Mark Langill, the team historian of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Van Dine Family Americanism Award will be presented to Monique Sugimoto, Archivist and Local History Librarian with the Palos Verdes Library District (PVLD).

- 8:30 a.m. Apple Pie Entries Accepted for judging. All pies must be homemade and contain
apples. All ages accepted. - 9:30 a.m. Apple Pie Judging takes place.
- 9:30 a.m. Face Painting.
- 9:30 a.m. Line up for Children’s Bicycle Parade.
- 10:10 a.m. Children’s Patriotic Bicycle Parade.

- 11:30 – 1:00pm Sousa Palooza Band Concert, Vocals by Brenda Lynn
- 12:00pm Picnic and Family Games
