DESCRIPTION:The Marine Mammal Care Center is open for public visitation Fridays\, Saturdays\, Sundays\, and Mondays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. They are closed to public visitation Tuesdays\, Wednesdays and Thursdays. During your visit\, you will get to see seal and sea lion patients\, enjoy various exhibits\, join a scheduled lecture or activity\, and learn from our experienced volunteer docents. You can also do some shopping in our gift store with all proceeds supporting the care and protection of marine mammals and our shared ocean. \n\n\n\nThe Marine Mammal Care Center is proud to offer tours in American Sign Language with a Deaf Guide. To book with a Deaf Guide\, please contact dbader@marinemammalcare.org to coordinate a time and date.Tickets are free (a $5 donation per person is appreciated) and must be reserved online in advance. DESCRIPTION:The Cities of Rolling Hills Estates\, Rolling Hills and Rancho Palos Verdes\, in partnership with Waste Management\, South Bay Environmental Services Center and Promenade on the Peninsula\, is hosting an Earth Day Celebration on Thursday\, April 18\, 2024 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Promenade on the Peninsula. \n\n\n\nLocated in the fountain area of the Promenade shopping center\, the event will feature fun and educational activities and giveaways for all. There will also be FREE paper shredding available\, limited to 3 boxes per person – the truck will be parked in the lot adjacent to El Pollo Inka. \n\n\n\nThis FREE event will highlight great environmental initiatives around the community and provide opportunities to learn more about water conservation\, storm water pollution prevention and energy efficiency. \n\n\n\nPromenade on the Peninsula is located on Silver Spur Road between Hawthorne and Crenshaw Boulevards. All stores and restaurants will be open during the event.
