DESCRIPTION:Join Los Serenos de Point Vicente Docents at International Coastal Cleanup Day.   \n\n\n\nCoastal Cleanup Day is an international day of action to protect our oceans\, watersheds\, and wildlife from trash and plastic pollution. Docents with Los Serenos de Point Vicente will be meeting at Founders Park this year and cleaning up the Rancho Palos Verdes Beach and Ocean Trails Reserve. We invite you to join us in protecting our local beach. \n\n\n\nUnder the guidance from the California Coastal Commission\, Heal the Bay has served as the Coastal Cleanup Day coordinator for all of Los Angeles for over 35 years. By lending a helping hand in the year’s beach clean-up efforts you will be taking care of our local marine life\, habitats\, and the ocean ecosystem. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: bucket\, garden gloves\, sunscreen\, hat and refillable water bottle. Limited supplies will be available at our site\, but may run low. Route is on a steep pathway and sandy beach. Trani’s Ristorante\, Utro’s Café\, Godmother’s Saloon\, both Sacred Grounds locations\, and many more.“Nothing connects San Pedrans over our history and culture quite like the places we gather to eat\, drink\, and celebrate — and sometimes\, drown our sorrows\,” Stecker said. “We are lucky to have so many of our favorite haunts — many long gone\, but some still around — preserved on decades of film.”Selections range from blockbusters and hit series such as “Chinatown\,” “This Is Us\,” “Ghost World\,” “Columbo\,” and “Ant-Man\,” to lesser-known titles and commercials that residents may recall transforming storefronts for a day or two of filming. DESCRIPTION:Team Taiko Community Drumming ClassesWe believe in creating unique opportunities for people to meet their neighbors and engage in their community in a new way. Come play with us! \n\n\n\nTaiko is a Japanese drumming style that\, over the last several decades\, has become a global phenomenon. Since 2013\, Grand Vision has partnered with leading taiko instructors to bring the art form to the South Bay. \n\n\n\nTaiko Artist ManMan Mui guides participants toward a repertoire of drumming techniques and patterns. Sessions include developing rhythmic sensibility\, body awareness\, breath and strength training as students make music together as a team. \n\n\n\nTeam Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities\, from beginners to seasoned musicians\, and fees are on a sliding scale. Recommended for ages 12 and up\, children must participate with a guardian or have a signed participation waiver. \n\n\n\nClasses are offered in person and streamed live via Zoom to allow for all to participate. \n\n\n\nFall Session Mondays at 7 PM September 8 – October 27: \n\n\n\nTeam Taiko classes are divided into 8-week sessions\, with a different pattern taught in each session.
