SUMMARY:SOAR Tropical Butterflies at South Coast Botanic Garden Opens
DESCRIPTION:South Coast Botanic Garden’s most popular exhibit\, SOAR – Tropical Butterflies\, is returning this May for its third consecutive year.This year\, not only will guests be surrounded by hundreds of tropical butterflies inside the pavilion\, but they have the opportunity to purchase a ticket that includes our new Butterfly Feeding Experience. Those who purchase the Butterfly Feeding Experience for an additional $6 can choose from a flower vial or ring filled with nectar to use while inside the pavilion to help entice butterflies to come closer to them for the optimum and most immersive experience. Species inside the pavilion include the fan-favorite blue morpho\, owl butterflies\, malachite\, rusty tipped page\, gold rim swallowtail\, ruby spotted swallowtail\, giant swallowtail\, orange tiger and more. This year’s exhibit also includes a new beautiful photo opportunity and a chance for guests to help support the exhibit and our new Pollination Garden through our Wall of Wings.$6 for Members and up to $23 for non-members\, which includes price of general admission. SUMMARY:Team Taiko Japanese Drum Lesson Spring/Summer Session
DESCRIPTION:We believe in creating unique opportunities for people to meet their neighbors and engage in their community in a new way. Come play with us! \nTaiko is a Japanese traditional drumming practice that\, over the last several decades\, has become a global phenomenon. Since 2013\, Grand Vision has partnered with leading taiko instructors to bring the art form to the South Bay. \nTaiko Artist Man Man Mui guides participants toward a repertoire of drumming techniques and patterns. Sessions include developing rhythmic sensibility\, body awareness\, breath and strength training as students make music together as a team. \nTeam Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities\, from beginners to seasoned musicians\, and fees are on a sliding scale. Recommended for ages 12 and up\, children must participate with a guardian or have a signed participation waiver. \nClasses are offered in person and streamed live via Zoom to allow for all to participate.
