- Meet Troop 258 -
First Female Eagle Scouts in the Nation
Eagle Scouts have been leading positive change in their communities for more than a century. That tradition continued with the historic inaugural class of female Eagle Scouts. On Sunday, February 21st, 2021, Be The Change celebration honored the accomplishments of this inaugural class while highlighting the positive impact that Scouts make in their communities everyday. This event celebrated the 900 girls who became the first female Eagle Scouts in the nation! This was a big milestone for the Boy Scouts of America as it honored these young women to receive the rank of Eagle Scout.
Troop 258 (the Nature Warriors, chartered with The Neighborhood Church) is the first female troop in PV, and one of the first in Los Angeles County. Founded in February 2019, this local troop of Eagle Scouts are in their junior year of High School at either PVHS or Peninsula High School. They all joined BSA (Boy Scouts of America) to challenge themselves and make the world a better place. Each member worked on their Eagle Scout projects to complete and get their patches. Next the Scouts plan to apply to college, while remaining active in the troop and continuing to help in the community.
