For Dalas Dodd, design isn’t just a profession—it’s a way of life. Born and raised in Manhattan Beach, Dalas grew up in a family of South Bay natives who shared a deep passion for home development. Her father, Mike Dodd, is a celebrated volleyball icon whose pro career spanned an incredible 16 years, with 75 victories in total—the first with Tim Hovland at Will Rogers State Beach in 1981 and the last with Mike Whitmarsh in Dallas in 1997. Mike’s brother, Ted Dodd, resides in Palos Verdes.
Dalas’s love for design was sparked early, helping her parents develop and remodel homes across the South Bay. While she pursued volleyball in college, her passion for creativity never wavered. Starting out in real estate and house flipping, Dalas quickly earned a reputation for her exceptional eye for design. What began as small, word-of-mouth projects has grown into Dalas Dodd Design—a thriving, one-woman business specializing in custom residential remodels and new construction.
With over seven years of experience and a portfolio of more than 500 homes spanning coast to coast, Dalas brings expertise, organization, and artistry to every project. Her signature approach? Crafting timeless yet unexpected spaces that not only meet her clients’ needs but also add significant value to their homes. “I believe great design doesn’t have to cost a fortune,” she says. “My goal is to create something beautiful, unique, and interesting at any price point.”
Currently, Dalas is collaborating with Jason Sikola on a beautiful home in Lunada Bay, bringing her unique vision to one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Palos Verdes.
Her passion for design has not gone unnoticed. Starting in the new year, Dalas will collaborate with the renowned Tarek and Heather El Moussa of The Flipping El Moussas, further solidifying her place as a rising star in the design world.
