Join Peninsula Seniors every Wednesday morning at 10:15 am-11:30am for thought-provoking lectures by famous local personalities on art, history, military, music, opera, local activities and more.

Wednesday, November 15 : “A History of the Railroads in the Greater Los Angeles Area”. Local historian and Peninsula Seniors member, Jim Shneer, provides a comprehensive look into the rail transportation that begins with Phineas Banning’s construction of the first railroad south of the Tehachapi’s in Los Angeles and includes the rise of the big three in the late 19th centruy, the Pacific Electric story and contemporary rail services.
